Nova Magazine Spotlights ME

Nova Magazine has published an excellent article by Will and Kathryn Woodvine featuring their teenage son Alex, who is severely ill with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and their amazing friend Arry’s Mountain Mayhem 100 miles in 24 hours off road cycle challenge fundraising for Invest in ME Research.

The article is in the SpotLight section on page 26 of the May 2019 issue of Nova Magazine. You can find it in flipbook format on the home page of the magazine’s website, and also share the text directly from this webpage:

Titled Invest in M.E, the piece also features One Stupid Dot, the poem by musician Mama Chill (aka Stacy Hart of Team Let’s Do It for ME) which has struck a chord with so many people and was performed on What’s Up TV. You can find the poem on Stacy’s Runnin On Empty M.E awareness page along with her music videos for ME Awareness: officialrunninonempty.com/m-e-2

Nova Magazine is also delivered free to every household in Newport, Shropshire and the surrounding area, so this is wonderful awareness and Kathryn is absolutely delighted, “Hopefully it’ll raise a lot of ME awareness and maybe even a donation or two! Thanks Teresa for organising such a fab article 💙”

Please feel free to share widely during May ME Awareness Month.

31 Days in May

New book of poems for May ME Awareness Month

by The French Femme

Rosalynde Lemarchand is pleased to announce the publication of her new book ’31 days in May’ under her nom de plume The French Femme.

Ros’s new book of 31 short poems about the reality of living with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) has been especially written for May ME Awareness Month.

Each day in May Ros will be sharing a poem from the book, so keep an eye on her blog or Facebook page or @frenchros on Twitter.

All proceeds from the book will be donated to Invest in ME Research and the charity’s Chairman, Kathleen McCall, has written the foreword. Ros has set up a JustGiving page Rosalynde’s 31 days in May for donations to the charity.

Ros writes,

Please feel free to share my blog and any of my poems.

I don’t write and publish my poetry to make a living but rather to increase awareness and understanding and to help others who suffer like myself.

It takes a great deal of time and effort and there is always payback on my health.

I hope my collection of poems convey a strong and simple message. I want better understanding and support. I want the suffering to end.

Please support me and Invest in ME Research.

Thank you.

À bientôt

Thank you for your support!

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS), as defined by WHO-ICD-10-G93.3. and promoting better education about ME.

Invest in ME Research is run by volunteers – patients or parents of children with ME – with no paid staff.

Overheads are kept to a minimum to enable all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and facilitating and funding biomedical research into, ME.

The charity believes that biomedical research into ME is crucial in order to make progress in treating this disease. We also believe that education of healthcare staff, the media, government departments, patient groups and patients is to be a priority.

The charity’s objectives are to initiate, maintain and augment a strategy of high-quality biomedical research into ME, to provide education about ME, and to raise awareness of the effects of the disease on patients and families.

We are a small charity but with supporters who have big hearts – and a determination to get the best possible research to be carried out to find the cause of myalgic encephalomyelitis and develop treatments. Read more…

Welcome to Pets Walkies for ME 2019!

All pets are welcome to join Team Walkies for ME, an adorable offshoot of the annual May ME Awareness and Fundraiser Walk for ME.

Walkies for ME is arranged by Ian McPhee. The team comprises a group of wonderful pets whose humans have Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

These lovely dogs, cats, horses and others will be doing a walk on their human’s behalf or resting with them, providing comfort and love.

They have their own JustGiving page justgiving.com/fundraising/walkies-for-me-2019 and are raising funds for Invest in ME Research charity.

You can, of course, create your own fundraising page for the team, like Cheyenne Hope’s for dynamic duo Lizzie and Kenzo planning to do 31 walks in 31 days for Invest in ME Research!

Walkies for ME also has a Facebook page facebook.com/WalkiesforME/ where folks can share photos of their pets and where you can let the team know if your pet would like to join in. All Pets Are Welcome!
